KMA Profile:

Originally from Malaysia, Ken studied
at the University of South Australia and completed the Degree in Architecture
in 1975.
He worked for the Adelaide firm of Boehm Twopenny Architects for a number
of years after graduation.
During that time, Ken was posted to their Darwin office the year cyclone Tracy struck.
In Darwin Ken was involved extensively with design of buildings for cyclonic conditions.
After Darwin, Ken spent a number of years in Adelaide with Boehm Twopenny Architects designing and seeing to completion a number of interesting projects including institutional buildings, banks, schools and houses.
In 1983 Ken was engaged as a project architect to manage the construction of a large condominium for a property development company in Florida U.S.A
When the Florida project was completed he joined a public listed company in Hong Kong as a property manager.
During the eight years with the Hong Kong company Ken was responsible for the company’s investment properties both in Hong Kong and overseas.
He travelled regularly and spent some periods in Canada, England and America
managing these properties.
The overseas experience he gained was invaluable later in the running
of his practice, and the management of building projects.
In 1991 Ken returned to Australia and soon after set up office north of
the City of Adelaide.
His previous work in the architectural field and in particular his interest
in the R.A.I.A. architects advisory service has aided in the growth of
his practice.
Ken appreciates the ongoing level of support from clients and associates that his architectural practice receives. Most of his work has been gained through word of mouth.
He attributes his success to the ability to identify his client’s needs quickly and provide realistic yet interesting solutions to the tasks put to him.
Ken does not believe solely in advertising and has always believed in the philosophy that the “product speaks for itself".
